Manor Lexow

A simple manor house, very tastefully renovated in the Mecklenburg Lake District with holiday apartments and bed & breakfast rooms with a café.

“Simply beautiful…unagitated stylish…tasteful colours and interior…sensational apartment, tastefully renovated…no wishes left unfulfilled”…

These quotes from guests of the Lexow Manor House say almost everything, but we tell a little more.

The 550 square metres are plain, solid and squarely packed; since 1874 the manor house has been standing in its place and gets by without projecting stairs and squiggly oriels. This pragmatic simplicity has its reason. Until 1918, the manor and manor house belonged to the property of the Dobbertine monastery and were leased. After troubled years as emergency accommodation, mayor’s seat and community centre, it stood empty after the reunification. In 2007 the nailed up building had holes in the roof and windows when Bettina Buschow and Patrick Oldendorf saved it in the last second.

In addition to the manor house, the adjacent Old Kitchen House and the Cartwright’s Shop have now been renovated and further apartments and double rooms have been added.

Guests immediately feel at home here, no matter for what reason they are in Lexow: whether it’s a family holiday with children or the family reunion with four generations, the company seminar or the leisure time with fellow students, the golf event, the riding holiday or the quiet relaxation holiday in nature. The possibilities are many, the verdict is usually the same: “we’ll be back.”

For families and groups who want to spend time not only together but also with each other, the spacious apartments offer the right ambience: well-equipped kitchens that make you want to cook together, large dining tables for meals and a fireplace to spend the evening in front of.

In addition to the apartments, the Lexow Manor House offers eight double rooms with breakfast as a B&B. Of course, the guests from the apartments can also sit down at the set breakfast table.
Common to the apartments and double rooms is the stylish, individual furnishing and high-quality equipment, in which old substance and modern comfort are combined. Old floorboards and original window shutters meet W-LAN and rain showers, the old timber framing of the roof truss was preserved during the renovation and old half-timbered walls were newly plastered with clay.

Room for more: Concentrated work is possible in an informal atmosphere, for example during team building, offsites or concept meetings. The manor house provides modern conference technology. And what are your plans at Gutshaus Lexow?
