Kaarz Castle with park

Castle Kaarz is situated in the middle of a gentle hilly landscape 30 km east of the state capital Schwerin and is surrounded only by its spacious park, which is under monumental protection.

It was built in the 70s of the 19th century in a largely classicist style. In 1869 the merchant and ship owner Julius Hüniken the Elder acquired the former estate Kaarz, which was taken over by his youngest son Julius Hüniken the Elder after his death. In 1992 the Gaertner-Hüniken family bought back the castle. The building was extensively renovated and has been used as a castle hotel since 1995.

The 22 modern and individually furnished hotel rooms and apartments are spacious and colorful. The interior design is very unique and marvelous. Each room provides snacks, cosmetics and hygiene products. The representative lounges with fireplace and grand piano, restaurant and coffee terrace invite you to linger. The castle park was laid out as an English landscape park by C. Ansorge from 1873 onwards. The park impresses with rare and exotic trees and plants. The entire park area is open to visitors and sculptures and outdoor installation attract visitors. The golf course WINSTONGolf and the horse riding stable Gut Vorbeck is nearby.

New ideas are born in the workshop lounge during meetings and retreats, seminar participants get inspiration and concentration from the beautiful interior or during walks in the extensive park.
