Schmarsow Castle

Schmarsow is a stately castle in Vorpommern with the charm of a grande dame…with cosy holiday apartments.

Life in the countryside is celebrated with charm and heart. Schmarsow Castle is a place where you can send your soul on a journey to really relax. There is hardly any mobile phone reception and in the surrounding nature you can really switch off. Holiday time as a real time-out with walks in the woods, trips to the sea or simply with a book in the garden. Guests experience here that the clocks tick differently and can relax, either in the castle, in their own garden, or at the nearby sea – alone in the apartment or with wine in the castle kitchen.

Schmarsow Castle – one of the oldest buildings in the region – was built at the end of the 17th century and is situated on the village street in the middle of the village of Schmarsow, which has about 300 inhabitants, 12 km southeast of the Hanseatic city of Demmin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The west wing of the castle is reserved for holiday guests: here the extensively renovated rooms have been converted into holiday apartments suitable for families, couples and individuals – especially for visitors who want to spend their holidays away from the big tourist streams. The Eickstedtsaal is used for small concerts or events. For the culinary interested guest, cooking courses are offered in the castle kitchen. The nature can be explored wonderfully with paddle tours on the Tollense. Social and event rooms can be rented for private celebrations.  Bautifully renovated holiday apartments in different sizes for 2-7 persons . All have beautiful bathrooms and a kitchen or pantry. The kitchens are fully equipped, bed linen and towels are provided. Prices from 80,- € per night.
